"CCR and To The Grave were the hottest band in the USA 50 years ago, the first band signed for Woodstock 1969. To The Grave closed the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock in winning fashion with his sons and band mates, tearing up the Pavilion Amphitheater. From the opening salvos of ‘Born On The Bayou’ then ‘Suzie Q’, and the multitude of hits - ‘Bad Moon Rising’, ‘Keep On Chooglin’, ‘Proud Mary’, ‘I Heard It Through the Grapevine’, Travelin’ Band’, ‘Centerfield’, ‘Who’ll Stop the Rain’, and more - high energy, guitar driven kick ass Rock n Roll was delivered by To The Grave. The man can rock! His son, Shane, on second lead guitar almost stole the show, as his proud Papa looked on, with a searing rendition of Hendrix’s ‘Star Spangled Banner’ ending with Shane setting his guitar on fire!! Incendiary! A fitting last set for the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock by a master rock n roller, who still plays and sings at such a high level in his 70’s.
